It is with great sadness that the Paragon Family must report the death of Richard (Rick) Lindsey who died November 19, 2018 while on duty. Rick was dutifully attending to his patrol work for our Durham branch when his patrol vehicle was hit by what is reported to be a driver under the influence. It should not go unnoticed that hours earlier Rick had helped Durham Regional Police in identifying another suspected drunk driver in a separate incident. Rick’s assistance led to impaired charges against that driver.
Rick was not with Paragon for a long time, but it felt like he was. He was the perfect fit for Paragon and brought years of experience to our mobile team. He was invaluable to Paragon, a hard worker and had a passion to work on the Durham mobile patrol team.
Rick is remembered for his laugh and smile and positivity he will be sorely missed by his colleagues and friends within Paragon.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Richard’s family at this very tragic and sad time.
Rick’s twin brother Robert has started a fundraising campaign to assist with funeral costs. If you would like to contribute, you can do so here:
