Paragon Security is a Canadian Security and Investigation Organization, dedicated to providing the finest security services to industry and commerce. Management

The senior management team is in total control of the company and are available to our clients for rapid resolution to issues as they arise. We are not accountable nor do we have reporting responsibilities to any parent organization in Canada or abroad as many of our competitors do. This allows us the freedom to make decisions and change course very quickly and to be able to deal with client issues in a much more expedient, efficient and friendly manner. Better service and partnerships with our clients are the result.

Paragon does not have a sales force as almost every other contract security company does. Contracts are sold by members of the senior management team. As a result, promises are not made that cannot be kept. It is common in contract security for a salesman to make promises to a prospective client in order to make a sale and receive a commission. Once the contract is awarded the salesman is no longer involved with the account and the operational staff is left to figure out how to deal with unattainable promises.

Our Operations Department is also set up differently than the majority of our competitors. Paragon uses a ‘team’ approach to Operations. We operate six Service Teams in the GTA, as well as one in Durham Region and another in Northern Ontario. At the core of each Service Team are a Service Director, Service Managers, a Scheduler, an Administrator and a number of Patrol Supervisors. By using the ‘team’ approach, each Scheduler reports to their own Service Manager; the team is responsible for all job placements and more care and attention is given to each position. 

 

Understanding Your Environment

Understanding and preventing security threats begins with understanding the facility itself. Each type of building can present unique situations and all require individual methods of response and prevention. At Paragon we pride ourselves in understanding the different types of facilities and the people who use them. From residents to shoppers, employees to patients, everyone has their own needs and concerns. Paragon guards are trained to understand them all. Applicant Appraisal Process

Our main Recruiting Centre is located at our Head Office facility in North York, Ontario. A job applicant attending our Human Resources Department is greeted by our receptionist and provided an opportunity to complete an employment application at a comfortable workstation. Applicants are offered coffee and cookies and are treated with the utmost respect and consideration. Criteria for preliminary consideration for employment include previous experience, education (Ontario Grade 12 or equivalent), availability to work required shifts, no criminal record, Canadian citizenship or landed immigrant status, available transportation to get to work, neat and clean in appearance with good hygiene. Applicants are interviewed by a qualified member of our HR staff. Reference checks are performed. Approximately one in 20 applicants meets our criteria for employment.

 

The Best Training In The Industry

Successful applicants are scheduled to attend our two-day Level II Training program at which time they are further assessed for their suitability for employment. Upon completion of the program, the applicant is given a final assessment. This assessment is based on exam marks, personal appearance, hygiene and deportment, attitude, class participation, demonstrated public relations skills, previous experience and anything else that the examiner deems relevant.

Successful applicants are then presented to Paragon Service Teams for deployment. The team has the complete employment package to review, as well as access to the Human Resources Personnel involved with the hiring and training program. With this information, the teams are able to deploy a new Security Guard to the best advantage to the Client, Paragon and the employee.
